I have spent my professional life writing about teaching and learning, and this is my first novel. You might ask if this novel is autobiographical, and I would say - yes, in some ways, it is - but like all writers I have blended the facts with the fantasies that have blossomed over time. But as I invited the characters into the story, they became independently alive and spoke with their own voices. At times all characters were speaking at once, clamouring to be heard! I have tried to blend these real, earthy conversational cameos with the voice of the more mature narrator, and the inner voice of reflection.
